Writers sharing stories over cocktails

As we’ve mentioned in past episodes, Brooklyn has become known for its writing scene recently, and although writing can be a very solitary endeavor, there’s a benefit to having a writing community and a place for writers to share their work with others. That’s part of why Stephanie Bok and Cindy Hanson decided to start Write Night @ Frank’s in the summer of 2009. The evening features a curated group of writers who share their work based on a particular theme.

Of course, on any given evening in New York City it’s possible to find a reading series of some sort. So what makes Write Night @ Frank’s so special? The BK Buzz sat down with the creators and several of the regular participants to find out.

If you are interested in checking out what Write Night has to offer, the next event is on November 3rd and the theme is “Now THAT’S Scary!”

Frank’s Cocktail Lounge, 660 Fulton Street near South Elliott Place.
