Embroidered love stories

Iviva Olenick was walking home to Boerum Hill one night when she came up with a creative idea for telling Brooklyn love stories, which soon became The Brooklyn Love Exchange. Olenick, who teaches embroidery at the Pratt Institute and at Etsy at 3rd Ward, began documenting love stories gathered from all over the borough in embroidered pieces.

The collection of love stories were recently on display at the Muriel Guepin Gallery in Cobble Hill, so The BK Buzz stopped by to check it out and chat with Olenick. Hear what she had to say about The Brooklyn Love Exchange.
